Home education, with consistent support

Yes. I can teach GCSE maths from the beginning, or tailor lessons to complement the learning you already organise at home. Following an initial assessment, I create an individual learning plan around your child’s starting point, goals and intended exam date.
I provide the teaching resources and practice materials, adapting the plan as your child progresses.
-
Lessons begin with a short recap to revisit previous learning before exploring a topic in depth. I explain each step, work through examples and check understanding through independent practice before moving on.
Every few weeks, I include mixed questions from earlier topics to strengthen recall and help your child recognise which methods to use. The balance between new learning, consolidation and exam practice changes with their needs.
-
I offer morning and afternoon sessions Monday to Friday. We agree regular weekly slots reserved for your child, helping establish a dependable learning routine.
A suggested starting point is two 60-minute lessons or three 40-minute lessons each week, alongside independent practice. After the assessment, we can agree a timetable that suits your child’s concentration, current understanding and time before their exams.
-
I aim to set homework after every lesson, with the amount agreed with you so that practice remains useful and manageable.
Your child can send completed work to me for marking and feedback, or we can review it together in the next lesson. This helps me spot misunderstandings early and gives your child an opportunity to ask questions about anything they found difficult.
-
You’ll receive a short update after each lesson and a monthly progress summary by email, covering what your child has learned, where they need further practice and what comes next. Monthly invoicing is also available.
You can contact me directly by email or WhatsApp. With your permission, your child can also email me questions between lessons, so they have someone to turn to when they get stuck :)
-
Alongside regular checks during lessons, I use mock papers approximately every couple of months when appropriate to your child’s stage of learning. I mark these and use the results to update the learning plan.
As exams approach, lessons include timed practice, exam techniques and targeted work on areas where marks are being lost. I can also help you choose an exam board, find a suitable exam centre and understand the steps involved in arranging exam entry.

I’ve seen students progress from a U to a grade 5 in less than nine months after rebuilding missing foundations. Every student’s starting point and progress are different, but that experience has shown me how much confidence can grow when a student has reliable, personalised support.
